Rayan's journey in law began with a commitment to justice and a desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of migrants facing challenges in Australia. Admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2016 after earning her Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University and completing her Supervised Workplace Training, Rayan embarked on a career dedicated to immigration law.

During her tenure at Bardo Lawyers, where she spent eight impactful years prior to joining CFIL in May 2024, Rayan honed her expertise in immigration law. Her practice spanned the spectrum, from handling primary stage applications to navigating complex judicial review matters and advocating for ministerial intervention on behalf of her clients. Rayan's adeptness in addressing sensitive issues, such as visa refusals, cancellations, and character assessments, reflects her deep commitment to serving her clients' best interests.

Rayan's academic pursuits underscore her dedication to her field. Alongside her legal qualifications, she holds a Master of Laws and a Bachelor of Media Studies. Fluent in Arabic, Rayan ensures effective communication and representation for clients from diverse backgrounds.

Her passion for refugee matters is rooted in personal experience, having witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by migrants, including within her own family and community. This firsthand exposure fuels Rayan's compassionate and sensitive approach to client representation. Her ethos of professionalism, coupled with an unwavering dedication to securing optimal outcomes, defines her practice.

Beyond her legal endeavours, Rayan is committed to giving back to the community. She serves as a mentor to aspiring students, providing guidance on academic and career paths. Rayan's advocacy extends to public speaking engagements at community events, including Careers Days organized by the Australian International Academy and the Next Step Forum.

Rayan eagerly anticipates leveraging her expertise to serve vulnerable members of the community through CFIL's Pro Bono program. With a steadfast commitment to justice and a compassionate approach to advocacy, Rayan continues to make meaningful contributions to the field of immigration law, enriching the lives of her clients and community alike.
