Eliza completed her Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws with Honours at Monash University in 2019. She has a long-held passion for migration law, having volunteered at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre from 2015-2022. Whilst completing her studies, Eliza worked as a paralegal at a national plaintiff law firm before completing her legal traineeship at a personal injury firm in 2020.
Following her admission to practice, Eliza decided to pursue her passion for migration law and joined Carina Ford Immigration Lawyers in March 2021. Since joining CFIL, Eliza has worked on a range of matters including partner, protection, family, student, and skilled visas, as well as visa cancellations and ministerial intervention requests.
In 2022, Eliza left Australia to travel and gain international legal experience. Whilst overseas she volunteered with a refugee legal centre in Greece and worked for a large corporate immigration firm in Canada. Eliza rejoined CFIL in February 2024.
Eliza understands that navigating Australia’s complex migration system can be a stressful experience for clients. For this reason, she makes sure to handle every matter with appropriate compassion and sensitivity. Eliza approaches every file with care and diligence, ensuring the best possible outcomes for her clients.
Eliza is passionate about social justice and has volunteered extensively at community legal centres both in Melbourne and overseas. Eliza continues to serve our community’s most vulnerable through CFIL’s Pro Bono program.
